Director Joshua Michael Stern says the late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs was constantly looking for a father figure.Stern has skippered JOBS next film, based on the life of Steve Jobs, who brings revolution with its technology. Actor Ashton Kutcher plays the lead role in the biopic.
A key aspect of Jobs' life that underlies much of the film was how he dealt with being put up for adoption by his biological parents. "Steve always looked for the father figure - always felt abandoned at some level of his father," Stern said in a statement.
Perhaps this was related to Jobs looking for a creative partner felt he could trust endless - whether engineering genius Steve Wozniak, Mike Markkula investor, or marketing virtuoso John Sculley, suggests Kutcher.
"The three men represent different aspects of this, and somewhere along the way that did not go with each of them, to put it mildly. All of us spend our lives looking for partners," said Kutcher.
"As a kind of backbone of this film, you have a guy who wants to create something, you want to change the world, you want to make a difference, and are looking for the right partner to do it," he added.
JOBS explores the life of the founder of Apple, sharpness and the discovery of his youth to his rise as an icon who changed technology as we knew it. It chronicles his darkest days, greatest triumphs, their dreams, hopes and passions and their aspiration to change the world and challenge the impossible.
